Since graduation he has been honing his skills as a producer/engineer, working to complete several solo albums, One Man Band (his children's music debut), and In The Nick of Time (Nick's Sophomore children's release). With lots of rhythm, melody and four part harmonies, they belt out tight pop songs with a rock and roll edge.
The sound blends Ben Folds, Stevie Wonder, and Jamiroquai with occasional jazz moodiness. Nick is currently a member of Johnny Most (which can also be found on CDbaby!), a funk/pop group based in Boston performing original and cover material. In his senior year at Bates, he composed Nemo's Dream, a thesis of original works for a jazz sextet and twenty piece jazz orchestra. SKAnnotto later asked him to join them as their bassist, and he went on to compose many of their most popular hits. During his sophomore year at Bates he formed the band Trolley Trolley, which went on to record the album Allergic to Penicillin. He was pleased to be selected as a member of the Massachusetts Allstate Select Choir four years running.Īfter learning to play the guitar and bass in high school in order to pursue an interest in rock music, Nick has since played with several bands both in and out of college. He also played saxophone in the gold medal winning WHS Jazz Band and was a member of the prestigious WHS Madrigal Singers. As a student at Westborough High School, he was honored to receive several awards for compositions and musical abilities, including the Judge's Choice Award from Berklee College of Music for playing string bass with his high school jazz combo. Music has always been a major part of his life from his earliest days of singing in the church choir to the present. in music composition with a concentration in jazz. He began teaching at the LEAP School in the summer of 2000 after graduating from Bates College with a B.A. Through his work as a teacher he has built up a repertoire of original and traditional music for preschool and elementary school aged children.
